Umila Singh is a Guyanese-American who was born and raised in Queens, New York. She graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York with a degree in Economics. Her experience includes working at the New York City Mayor’s Office and teaching English in Colombia at SENA. At DSI, she hopes to better understand systems change as well as how to apply an equity-centered and trauma-informed approach to community interventions.
